THE EKKLESIA WAS BORN IN MIRACLES
Think about it ...
The New Testament Church was born on The Day of Pentecost, in Acts 2. What is the ENTIRE focus of that chapter? An honest answer is MIRACLES … a great outpouring of miraculous power:
In Romans 15:18-19, The Apostle Paul wrote that he led Gentiles to salvation … “by the power signs and miracles, through the power of the Holy Spirit.” To Paul, miracles were not an optional extra in the Christian life; they were not just a curiosity. To Paul, miracles were essential to the process of evangelism … a DEMONSTRATION that His words were true! He did not want men’s faith to rest upon his intellectual arguments, rather on a demonstration of God’s power (I Corinthians 2:4-5).
It's time for believers to BELIEVE again! The Greek word for “believe” is the word:
pisteuo [Strong’s G4100] – to demonstrate faith in; to believe in by putting into action.
Do you see it? BIBLICAL “belief” cannot be separated from ACTION! It was the actions of New Testament believers that served as the most powerful evangelism tool in drawing people to Jesus … not religious words and arguments! In fact, it’s hard to find an instance in the Book of Acts where someone chose to follow Jesus, apart from miracles, signs, and wonders.
BOTTOM LINE: New Testament believers are supposed to be SUPERNATURAL people!
The New Testament Church was born on The Day of Pentecost, in Acts 2. What is the ENTIRE focus of that chapter? An honest answer is MIRACLES … a great outpouring of miraculous power:
- the roar of a rushing mighty wind in The Upper Room … that was no only heard in the room, but throughout Jerusalem!
- a pillar of fire entered the room, then supernaturally divided into individual flames that then rested upon every person in the room!
- the manifestation of the supernatural ability to speak in unknown tongues that, as they existed the room, were understood by every person that heard … IN THEIR OWN LANGUAGE!
- a manifestation of God’s presence so prominent that it caused the apostles to appear drunk!
